Amidst busy work days, we understand that a lot of effort goes into preparing the meal; we certainly don’t want any of it to go to waste! These recipes are simple, resourceful, and require minimal effort so you can relax after your post-Thanksgiving craziness.
First, make sure you have some Thanksgiving leftovers to use. These can be any kind of leftover food, such as potatoes, stuffing/dressing, gravy, turkey, ham etc; these are all great candidates for leftover recipes you can make with friends and family the next day! Engage your creativity and utilize the extras so you can make the most out of your hard-work cooking. There are so many delicious and unique ways to prepare this traditional holiday food the day after as well.
Here are some of our favorite recipes from our team and their families at Focus Insite:
Thanksgiving Sandwiches: Brilliant way to transform your meat and side dishes into a meal.
“Take really good bread and pile it high with the leftover turkey, dressing/stuffing, mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce and gravy. You can do any variation of this but it’s really good! You can have all of the Thanksgiving flavors in one bite especially if you don’t feel like cooking after Thanksgiving day!” ~ Brittany Jones
Turkey and Dumplings: A hearty and comforting dish made with leftover turkey.
“This seemed like such a warm, comforting way to utilize my leftover Thanksgiving turkey in a way that is different, but simple. It really puts you in the mood for the cozy holiday season!” ~ Laura Bryant
Thanksgiving in a Blanket: Crescent rolls with the thanksgiving leftovers inside.
“I like to take the present rolls and place the leftovers inside; then, I wrap them in a ring and put container of gravy in the middle. Great for parties!” ~ Karen Bakowski
Twice-Baked Mashed Potatoes: Using mashed potatoes and adding a simple flare with a few simple ingredients.
“Mashed potatoes are amazing, but eventually you get tired of eating them plain and want to spice them up. These twice-baked mashed potatoes prove you can’t go wrong with bacon, cheese and chives.” ~ Serena Berrey
We hope you attempt one of our team’s favorite ways to utilize leftovers! These are just a few ideas for creative ways to enjoy your Thanksgiving leftovers until your grateful tummies are full of love and food this holiday season. Happy Thanksgiving from Focus Insite.
